What is HomeAway?
HomeAway is the world leader in holiday rentals with sites representing more than 2 million unique places to stay in 190 countries, and is a part of the Expedia, Inc. family of brands. Stayz has been part of the HomeAway family since December 2013 and listings on Stayz have been distributed to the HomeAway network to provide owners with greater traveller exposure.
What does it mean when you say the new home of Stayz is HomeAway?
All Stayz owners and property managers will be asked to upgrade to a new dashboard that is available on HomeAway Australia. When it’s time, your listing information will be moved across to the HomeAway owner dashboard and you will be able to start managing new bookings and enquiries here. At this stage, the Stayz Owner Admin will be available to you for managing your inflight bookings and any future bookings that you have already received.
When will I have to transition across to HomeAway?
Once you have signed up for early access, you are going to be in front of the queue to transition your Stayz listing to the HomeAway dashboard. We will keep you informed via email over the coming weeks, to tell you the exact date when you are ready for your upgrade.
Will I have to manage everything on the HomeAway dashboard?
Once you’ve set up your listing on the HomeAway dashboard by completing your onboarding experience, any new bookings and enquiries will need to be managed on HomeAway. To access your HomeAway dashboard, simply visit - homeaway.com.au and choose Owner login from the Login drop down link.
Your existing bookings made through Stayz, and Items List, will need to be managed on Stayz as you currently do within Stayz Owner Admin.
What happens to my current bookings on Stayz?
Your inflight bookings and future bookings will need to be managed on Stayz as you will continue to have access to your Stayz Owner Admin. This includes all pending Item lists for enquiries that you may have received. Bookings that you receive on your HomeAway dashboard will need to be managed using your HomeAway login details.
Can I bring my Stayz bookings across to HomeAway?
No, all Stayz bookings will need to be managed on Stayz. Funds collected for these bookings from the travellers will be paid out to you as per normal. All blocked dates on your Stayz calendar will be reflected on your HomeAway calendar to show the true account of your property’s availability status. Any changes needed to be made on these bookings will need to be completed in Stayz.
Will I still have access to everything in my Stayz Owner Admin?
You will continue to have access to you Stayz Owner Admin using your current credentials as well as 24/7 customer support. Once you have upgraded to HomeAway your Stayz listing information can not be changed, and any updates to listing details will need to be made through HomeAway. However you will be able to edit any booking requests and convert any enquiries to booking requests. Your Items List will also be available for amendments as required.
When will I lose access to my Stayz Owner Admin?
Once you start the transition across to HomeAway you will temporarily be locked out of your Stayz Owner admin. This will be enabled again as soon as your HomeAway property's on-boarding is complete. After this point, you will continue to have access to Stayz Owner admin but in read-only state. However your bookings and items list will be editable.
How will I receive money for my booking requests that have already been accepted and paid?
You will continue to receive all funds from Stayz for any inflight and future bookings.
What about my Items List?
Items Lists on your Stayz listings will need to be completed for bookings that may have been received but not completed.
Will any of my listing information be transferred across?
As part of the upgrade, we will move the following information across from your Stayz listing to your upgraded HomeAway listing.

Will all my listings be moved across to HomeAway?
Only your enabled listings will be moved across to HomeAway.
How will my commission charge be determined?
Bookings completed on the HomeAway site will be liable for a 5.5% commission charge. This includes any travellers that book on the Stayz site after you upgrade your property to HomeAway and complete their booking in the HomeAway check out flow. If your property has not be been upgraded, any bookings completed via the Stayz site using Online Booking will pay 7%.
Who pays the service fee?
The service fee is paid by the traveller when they complete their booking on the HomeAway checkout flow.
How will the service fee be determined for bookings on Stayz and HomeAway Australia?
Travellers will pay a 2% service fee for bookings completed via the Stayz site using Online booking. These bookings are not eligible for the Book with Confidence Guarantee and the Liability Insurance.
Bookings completed on the HomeAway site will have traveller service fee of between 3 - 12%, for most bookings, but it may be above or below depending on the booking. All bookings completed on the HomeAway site will be eligible for the Book with Confidence Guarantee and the Liability Insurance.
Will I lose my search position when I move over to HomeAway?
Once you’ve moved across to HomeAway, we will work towards ensuring your search position is maintained as closely to Stayz as possible. However, traveller preferences, calendar availability and filters added could mean that search results vary from time to time.
How will traveller’s find my property if they haven’t heard of HomeAway?
As part of the upgrade, once your property is on HomeAway, we will ensure that it is distributed back to the Stayz site. This means your property will be reflected on Stayz and HomeAway and you will continue to receive the same traveller exposure as you do today.
